Please pick this up Anne - Leopold Whitehead

July 20th, 2011 by Leopold Whitehead at 2:17 am

Anne love – asked you to post on the website with my account, so hopefully you’ll pick this up.  Don’t forget to keep the screen brightness down and the wireless turned off – and only plug in the 3g adapter when you have to.

I’m going to be late I’m afraid love, please forgive me.  I’m currently writing from the back seat of the Focus.  Remember that car that crashed down the road?  Well it had a jerry can full of petrol in the boot.  There’s not many zombies about the road for some reason so I’ve been able to walk further down the street than we thought.

The houses are full of them – don’t know if they’re sheltering in there, or just people who’ve bene infected and returned.  Either way initial plan to grab food from neighbors is a no-go.

Starved Cold Dark - Leopold Whitehead

July 19th, 2011 by Leopold Whitehead at 2:51 pm

Anne here still… don’t know where Leo is…

Can’t be on the netbook long as the battery is being rationed.  Ever since the power went we’ve not had light or heat or anything.  33% left = 45 minutes.

I’m up in the attic with the stairs pulled up.  The ‘zombies’ have been milling about in the flat for over a week – they broke through the downstairs door and the upstairs one not long after the power went.  Leo had broken into next door and taken all the tins that were left behind and stashed them up in the roof.  When they finally came through our front door we went into the attic and pulled the stairs up after ourselves.  It locks from both sides, so no way to get to us now.

We are still alive… - George Lowry

July 12th, 2011 by George Lowry at 7:15 pm

…but I’ve no idea what to write…

We’re all bored stiff.  We haven’t moved in a week, we’re not sure we want to venture back to Machynlleth just yet.

Tom, it’s good to see that you are still with us.  I’m not sure where the railway will take us to be honest, I rather apprehensive about leaving the Cambrian line as once we are off, we may need to manually reset points to get back on it, doing that would require someone getting off the train…

I’ll try and post more often, there just isn’t much to write about…

Power - Tom Jones

July 8th, 2011 by Tom Jones at 10:13 pm

Is power down all over the place now?

Just ventured down to the neighbours who have kindly given me a spare generator. Huzzah for farmers.

It is very temperamental though which explains why he gave it to me I guess….

Thankfully there still doesn’t seem to be much zombie activity down here.

If anybody could get to here, I’m sure I could put them up for a bit. George I’m not sure whether or not the line you’re on can get to Clunderwen, but if it could I might be able to pick you up.

Just a thought…

Late night loafing - George Lowry

July 5th, 2011 by George Lowry at 11:02 pm

I’m just kicking about the train, everyone else is in bed.  We’ve had so little trouble recently that we don’t worry about watching out for attacks.  Also, when we have been ‘attacked’ the train has held up pretty well…

I’ve been sitting with my nose pushed up against the window, looking out.  It’s thrashing it down.  It’s windy.  Its the kind of weather that you just want to be tucked up in your own bed.  I’m rapidly forgetting what things like that are like…

Ruddy signal - George Lowry

July 5th, 2011 by George Lowry at 6:28 pm

The bloody signal on these phones is crap.  Every few miles it just drops out!

Things on the train are OK.  We’ve no water left in any of the toilets, so we’re flushing with big bottles of water.  The waste goes right onto the track, so we’ve found we’ve got to move because the stench becomes quite unbearable…

Fran has lost a lot of weight, and while she is still being sick, it’s less often and less violent.  Beth is trying her best to comfort her, but she has also hardly spoken a word since Harry was taken.  It seems just like yesterday, it’s so fresh in my mind, I can’t imagine what it must be like for Fran.

Our plan is to venture back towards Shrewsbury in the next week or so, see what’s what out there…

Worried - George Lowry

July 4th, 2011 by George Lowry at 2:28 pm

OK, I’m getting worried now.  We’ve heard nothing from anyone else, surely three people in separate locations can’t just disappear!?

Still nothing? - George Lowry

July 1st, 2011 by George Lowry at 6:57 pm

Has everything gone down?  We’ve been camped out in a mobile blackspot, not on purpose, we just stopped there and didn’t want to move to soon due to the engine noise.

We’ve pretty much settled in now, each having our own little space.  With the extra tools we brought aboard we’ve made some seats into beds to make things a little more comfortable.

Fran is still being sick a lot, we’re really worried about her.

Is everyone OK? - George Lowry

June 29th, 2011 by George Lowry at 6:58 am

I’ve been woken up this morning by the bright sun.  The five of us are still here in the middle of nowhere…Supplies aren’t bad at the moment, we’ve essentially got a whole food car stuffed with tinned things.  Unfortunately burner fuel is running low, so we’ll soon be eating everything cold.
We’ve not started the train up for a couple of days now, the air powered doors are difficult to open, but on the plus side all of the exterior doors are locked tight.
Fran is being sick after every meal, we think it’s something to do with the trauma of Henry.  I wish he was here with us right now.

Tom, it’s good to hear from you, although other things have taken my time so far, I’ve been thinking of you, Jim, and Leo.  I hope we hear from the other two soon…

Radio Silence - Tom Jones

June 28th, 2011 by Tom Jones at 11:50 pm

Well there’s some things that are good about living in the middle of the country side, and some massive things that’re bad.

Good – my zombie friend seems to have vanished. It’s as if he was never here. I wandered outside the day after with my rifle and he was nowhere to be seen. In hindsight, keeping all my tools in the shed wasn’t such a good idea as I had to venture outside to get to them.

That’s now remedied and everything is indoors (aside from zombie friend).

Bad – My internet has completely gone down, and judging by recent posts now that I finally have some form of communication, it’s not only here. I can only assume the main broadband line has been tampered with, as from an old job I know that there are a few main lines that service parts of the country. I’d guess that Wales has been hit at the very least, but there should be some areas of the country still with internet.

Hopefully some of them will find this site?

R.I.P Henry. You won’t be forgotten 🙁
