It wasn’t the spilt milk I was crying over… - Henry Fable

June 10th, 2011 by Henry Fable at 4:31 pm

…It was my laptop…

Fran decided she didn’t like drinking milk made from powder, so in the middle of an argument she knocked a large jug of it from the counter.  It spilled over the table and into my laptop, which was thankfully turned off.
I’d rinsed it with water after taking the battery out and left it in the airing cupboard.  I’ve just taken it out now, and it appears OK!

So that’s why you haven’t heard much from me, I’ve been nursing a drowned laptop back to health…

Souped up Astra - Leopold Whitehead

June 10th, 2011 by Leopold Whitehead at 11:37 am

There’s a bit pack of them trying to get into the house opposite us.  Anne and I haven’t spoken a word for the last half hour in case they hear us.  We’re communicating via laptop keyboard at the moment.

The silly bastard across the road had a stereo on loud.  This is the same twat who races his souped up Astra up and down the road at the dead of night.  It’s off now but the zombies have twigged that there’s someone in there.  At my last peek through the curtains they’d broken the window in his sitting room.

We can’t do anything for him without attracting attention to ourselves.  Anne thinks its cold.  I think its sensible.

Anne called 999 – but it just rang.  One of the zombies is in what looks like riot gear.

What would we use as soil? - Leopold Whitehead

Still no email from next door neighbours.  Mary and Kevin – I don’t know their second names.  Really wishing I did now.

Watched out of the attic skylight last night with Anne as the yet more police cars rushed by.  They’re all heading to Hockwell Ring, the evil ridden council flats a mile or so up the road from us.  Police cars and gunshots aren’t unusual up there, but it was genuinely frightening to hear the shots, sirens and screams so clearly through the night.  Anne and I were still there when the sun started to come up, and the shots became less and less frequent – and eventually stopped.

Cool and calm - Henry Fable

June 8th, 2011 by Henry Fable at 6:51 am

The morning is light and we’ve not seen a lot over the last 24 hours.  The tinned steak is surprisingly good, and Andy does a mean SPAM fritter!

I reckon supplies will hold out until Friday at least, we’ve all learn to ration ourselves.

Location… - Tom Jones

Hi Henry. Currently living in the depths of Pembrokeshire, Wales. Eglwyswrw to be exact.

So far there doesn’t seem to be much going on down here – though there have been a flurry of murders in the news, as close as Narberth! I’m beginning to wonder whether it’s just a coincidence.

Right Back Atcha’ - Leopold Whitehead

June 7th, 2011 by Leopold Whitehead at 10:14 am

Hi Henry – and Tom,

Leo’s fine.  Stupidly put my full name in when I registered on this site and now it appears every time I post (doh!).  Loving the site though mate – none of the official news sites have had anything up for a few days – so places like this are the only way to really find out what’s happening outside our own front doors.  The post on your shopping trip sounds helpful – we might have to do something simmilar if this doesn’t blow over soon.

Anne says Hello too btw.  She reckons we’re all mental.

Welcome Leopold & Tom - Henry Fable

June 7th, 2011 by Henry Fable at 8:32 am

It’s good to see some other people posting on here.

Leo (can I call you Leo?), looks like you’ve not got it as bad as us, and it looks like it could be clearing up for you!  I hope it’s the beginning of the end of all this.  We’ve got it much worse, I’m sure the police scarpered as soon as they heard the news because we haven’t seen them…

Tom, I’m eagerly waiting to hear what’s happening in your part of the world, where are you, by the way?

Blogging? - Tom Jones

June 7th, 2011 by Tom Jones at 12:50 am

Recent events have made me think that it would probably be worthwhile to somehow document my thoughts and daily activities in some way, shape or form. Just in case, y’know. So here’s too hopefully something interesting…

Salad and Apples - Leopold Whitehead

June 6th, 2011 by Leopold Whitehead at 11:57 pm

Ironically spent last night playing Black Ops Zombies mode online with a few buddies last night.  They’re all stuck the same as me, in a little village about 10 miles up the road.  We usually do a geek night once a week where everyone comes round, drinks beer, eats pizza and plays videogames – so it was nice to have that bit of normality back – even if it is over the net.  Anne sat on the sofa ignoring me yelling into the headset and re-reading her book.  Think I might be able to convince her to have a go at bioshock tomorrow.

A load of police cars drove past the street this afternoon with the lights and sirens going at full blast.  It’s oddly reassuring to know that they’re still out there and kicking arse.  If I was in charge I’d send in the army next to clear the streets.  Can’t imagine this will last much longer now that the government have pulled their finger out.  Good thing too, we’re nearly out rocket salad and apples.

Can’t survive a Zombie apocalypse without salad and apples.  Glad it’s nearly over.

Sunday shopping - Henry Fable

June 6th, 2011 by Henry Fable at 6:51 pm

I have never known shopping to take so bloody long!  Early yesterday evening, me and George headed out into town, the first time any of us had been out the house.  Armed with a couple of sledge hammers, we made it to the car and headed to Lidl.
