I have never known shopping to take so bloody long! Early yesterday evening, me and George headed out into town, the first time any of us had been out the house. Armed with a couple of sledge hammers, we made it to the car and headed to Lidl.

Sunday shopping
Monday, June 6th, 2011Can’t sleep
Sunday, June 5th, 2011Laying in bed and all I can hear is moaning, gasping, and heavy footfalls. Are we being surrounded? Don and Andy are looking out, but without street lights we can’t see much and we don’t want to use torches incase it draws attention to ourselves, we still don’t know how intelligent these things are.
Early to bed
Saturday, June 4th, 2011Well that was a nothing afternoon. Just spent it looking through old books…
Six hours is not enough
Saturday, June 4th, 2011Six hours sleep is just not enough! I’ve no idea how I used to get by on three! But I’m up and ready to go…Go and do what though….?
Initially there was panic, the came excitement. But now we’re just bored…
We’re getting fed up with our own company and the space is feeling very limiting.
Cup of tea I think. Mmmmmm, powered milk………
YUK!
Still nothing
Saturday, June 4th, 2011Bugger all happening last night.
We’ve decided to swap the shifts around a bit, so I’m not on tonight, I’ll be watching tomorrow day. Time for sleep and then up for the afternoon, which will be a bit like being a student again only with less booze…
Running low
Friday, June 3rd, 2011Our supplies aren’t looking good…
I think we’re good for a few more days, but then we’re going to need to go looking for food. I didn’t think we’d get through so much, I guess we’re just used to having the same old portions as we always used to. (more…)
A tightly wound spring
Friday, June 3rd, 2011Remember that attack at the front door the other day? The body has been lying in the basement courtyard since then and it’s turned pretty fuzzy. The body has moved a bit, it’s joints bent at odd angles, you could almost imaging all of the limbs just springing back into position and propelling the body across the courtyard.
Nothing to see
Friday, June 3rd, 2011The one thing about night time watching is there isn’t a lot to see. The street lamps aren’t on and there are no cars. Infected folk don’t glow or anything, so I’m having to listen for movements, which isn’t difficult as they all seem to lumber about…
Night watching
Thursday, June 2nd, 2011The girl is still in the garden, her skin torn like her clothes. One of her parents, too disfigured to distinguish which, walked straight past her earlier, making their way down the road.
There was a small gather round the back in the car park, but they quickly went after a rabbit. I wonder if this infection can spread to rabbits…
Frightened Fran
Thursday, June 2nd, 2011After last night, my sleep was broken with images of what I witnessed. Beth, Fran, and Don have seen infected people today.
Fran is traumatised, she saw the family across the road stumbling about inside the house. She knew them, she had looked after the little girl when the parents had gone away. The little girl was stumbling around the garden, almost as if to show people what had happened.
Beth is looking after Fran just now, and George is keeping watch. I’ll take over at about 8ish for the night watch.
