VEGGIE FISHFINGERS - kieranfoster

Some of the others say I’m wasting my time. I can’t help but feel this is our only way to contact the outside world. What’s going on out there? Is this thing happening all over the place or is it just the UK? Are we alone?

It’s been months since I’ve heard or seen anything, not even a bird. Everything is just so still and quiet. And cold. Snow fell the other week and we have no heating (except for the engine Stiffy nicked). We were huddled up in one room surrounded by blankets and cushions, each wearing as many layers as we could, the only light we had was the Gameboy screen! I’m worried that the cold might get to Sophie. She’s a tiny thing, and the other day her lips were blue and she couldn’t feel anything in her hands and feet. It’s obvious Hannah’s worried about her too, but what can we do?

It seems the poor whether isn’t just affecting moral either. Danny isn’t doing too well; he’s been complaining about ear ache and head aches and stuff for a couple of days. We’ve had some pain killers lying around since before the outbreak but we’re starting to run out. Also, I didn’t want to say anything, but he sort of smells funky. Well, funkier. Let’s be honest, none of get much opportunity to shower on a regular basis – but he sort of smells “off”. Yet another thing for Hannah to worry about!

Anyway, I will continue to post on here as often as I can, for as long as I can. The little light on the internet thing is flashing happily so I guess that means we’re all good! Stiffy has helped me charge the battery on my lap top with the solar panels, so when it’s good whether we should get roughly 30minutes a day. We’re held up good so far, plenty of tinned food since we got the trolley load from Tesco, but El’s had no success with the garden whilst the colds set in. We even ate some old vegetarian fish fingers we nabbed too, guessing that even though the power went down, it had been cold enough to keep them fresh-ish. They were strangely sweet. I think I’ve said enough. Ho hum. At least next time it’s Mojo and Bhanu’s turn to head out with Tom – I’ll still have to drive though.

I wonder how far that zombie torso got in the end…? Over and out.
